My Story

My Story

Ever have something unexpected happen that ended up changing your life?  You’re reading this because that happened to me.

The Beginning:

I was born and raised in Northwest Indiana (Hammond and Griffith), which are about 30 miles from Chicago. My mom is a creative and hard-working person and my dad was one of the kindest people I’ve known. I have a younger brother and sister.  I played sports (football, baseball, and basketball) and loved to fish and hunt.

In high school, I took a Ceramics class and was immediately hooked by making pottery.  I was terrible at it (important lesson to come), but didn’t realize the importance that would have in my life.  I also learned about carpentry while working a summer job and thought that was my plan for work.

College, Marriage, and Moving!

After high school, I worked as a carpenter, but quickly realized that wasn’t what I wanted to do full-time. I loved helping people and making pottery, so I decided to become a high school Art teacher.  I attended Indiana University Northwest (in Gary, IN) and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Calumet College of St Joseph (in Whiting, IN).

While in college, I met my wonderful wife and we were married.  My wife was a Special Education teacher so after I graduated we moved to a small town in central Minnesota with 1 stop-light.

My wife and I both got teaching jobs and I also worked at a group home for teenagers. I loved what I was doing, but changes and challenges (aka – opportunities) were coming.

Unexpected Changes, Challenges, and a New Start

In 2008, the economy turned downward and Art budgets are often a low priority and I wasn’t able to teach full-time at the school in my town, so I made a decision to leave teaching and decided to work at the group home.

This decision changed my life in ways I couldn’t have imagined.  In Spring of 2011, a co-worker asked me if I’d be open to trying a product to save my family some money. Thankfully, I said “Yes” because the product worked, but more importantly – I learned an option to make money using financial leverage with a team.

Yes, I was introduced to the profession of network marketing and I read the book “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki. It was like a whole new world opened up and I was completely convinced I would learn the skills I needed to succeed and teach others to do the same!

Later in 2011, I learned my dad was diagnosed with cancer from asbestos while working in the steel mill.  The picture below was the last Christmas my dad and I spent together.  Because I said “Yes” and got to work sharing what I discovered with others, I was able to quit my job and focus on helping people live their dreams.

In June of 2012, I got a call that my dad was in a coma and they didn’t think he’d make it.  Thankfully he came out of the coma a few weeks later, but needed someone to take of him 24/7.  Because I said “Yes” to learning more about a product that worked and an option to make money sharing it, I was able to stay with him and take care of him for the last months of his life until he passed in September 2012.  All this was possible because I was open to an opportunity, which is why I decided to become a professional network marketer!

Ready for something bigger too?

Life is short and full of twists-and-turns.  Because we get one chance at making the most of life, I’ve learned about ways to create better health and financial freedom so I can spend more time with the people I care about most.

I’ve also dedicated my life to learning new skills and sharing them with people who want to live a life they’re excited about waking up to each day.  I get to be home for dinner with my family every day and we get to do fun things like go to Chicago Blackhawk’s games together.  We get to spend time with our 3 children and 3 grandchildren who all live nearby.
