02 Mar Unanswered Prayers And FuelDirect!
When I was in high school and considering what I wanted to do when I “became an adult”, it appeared like the entire world was in front of me. For example, I thought about many career options including construction, becoming an architect, and teaching Art. Soon after I graduated, I moved to another state and began in my construction career.
Things went well and I was quickly promoted in the company, but I also started to consider the future. I knew I wanted to get married and have a family, but didn’t want to be dependent on good weather or “construction booms” to provide for them. I decided to go to school and study Art and become a highschool teacher. While in college, I started my pottery business and continue learning how to be the best teacher possible!
While completing my degree, I was told of a statistic that the average person would switch careers in excess of 5 times in his / her lifetime. I remember thinking that won’t occur to me and I will find a great teaching position! Well, I did find several great teaching opportunities and was blessed to help and influence many students, but due to “budget cuts” I wasn’t employed as fulltime.
I’m sure you or someone you know can relate and to make things worse I had spent so many hours investing in my dream to teach that it felt like part of my heart and soul were in that building and those children. When I had to resign my part-time position, it felt as if I left part of me there! Fortunately, I met some amazing people and one of them introduced me to my business FuelDirect.
Last night, I was driving by my one of those schools and recalling all the time spent working to help to make sure my students had the best experiences possible. Part of me misses those fun times and interactions, but this time I felt a sense of deep appreciation. Because of tose unanswered prayers, I had many other doors open to me and I was again called to a larger opportunities through my business. Once again, I am able to help many people and it feel like I’m living a “bigger” purpose!
When I joined FuelDirect, I saw a tremendous financial opportunity, but what I didn’t know was how it would lead to transforming my entire life. Since joining FuelDirect, I have read over 10 new books ( I used to detest reading ), lost over 55 pounds, and am working daily at developing into a better person, husband, father, and leader! My whole life has changed and prior to that I was frustrated because that “dream” of being a full-time teacher did not come to fruition. All I can say now is that Everyday I am thankful for unanswered prayers! This has taught me the importance of being open to the “other gifts and opportunities” that are possible in life.
