Learn about effort from Michael Jordan!

If you give your best effort each day, you will be successful!

Effort

“The major difference between a big shot and a little shot is that a big shot was a little shot that just kept shooting” – Zig Ziglar

What an amazing point about effort!  Just the thought about not needing to be perfect, but “shooting for it” everyday reassures me that I will be successful in reaching my goals.  There are life lessons all around you each day if you take the time to look for them.  Do you remember this commercial?

What a great example of effort and how it brings success!

Like many people, I grew up watching Michael Jordan play basketball and saw an amazing example of what a person with trememdous heart can accomplish through consistent effort.  I watched hundreds of games and saw him do amazing things – including winning many games and championships.   When I think back,….I don’t remember him missing those shots or not winning the games – Do you?   Like the quote and the commercial imply –

WE WILL ALL BE WINNERS IF WE KEEP “SHOOTING”

In the book “Think and Grow Rich”, Napoleon Hill talks about a person who missed out on tremendous wealth because he stopped digging for gold three feet from where the next mine owner found it.   Imagine how frustrating that would be to get that close to tremendous wealth and then give up only to then learn that you stopped 3 feet from it?  Well, the good news is that same person, who stopped short of the gold, applied amazing effort to his life and vowed to never stop short again.   He ended up becoming a very successful and wealthy salesman.   Would that apparent “failure” of stopping three feet from gold have stopped you or would you have picked yourself up and gave your best effort to grow from that experience?

Life is amazing because of the opportunities we have available to us each day.  With some effort, knowledge, and skills, we can achieve success and reach our goals.   What will you do when you appear to “miss your shot”?

Remember, we can all become “BIG SHOTS” with productive and daily effort!
